Cambodia’s coastal tourism events take place across Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep and Koh Kong. Programmes may highlight beaches, islands, seafood, sports, conservation and local products, but their names and dates change from year to year.
Types of coastal events
Travellers may encounter food fairs, sailing or beach sports, concerts, environmental campaigns and provincial tourism exhibitions. Koh Rong and other islands may host private resort programmes that are separate from official public festivals.
Sea Festival connection
The national Cambodia Sea Festival rotates among coastal provinces and usually has a larger official programme. Smaller coastal events should not be confused with it.
Planning safely
- Confirm ferry and road schedules.
- Monitor weather and sea conditions.
- Use licensed boat operators and life jackets.
- Do not enter closed swimming areas.
- Avoid damaging reefs, mangroves or wildlife.
Support coastal communities
Choose locally owned services, refuse unnecessary plastic and follow waste rules. Ask permission before photographing fishing work or entering village areas.
